Meals for Unity
Meals for Unity is a registered charity founded in New York City in 2021. It was created in response to the increase in violence, poverty, and food insecurity that the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community has faced since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
When I visited New York City, I had the pleasure of working with Meals for Unity. The non-profit provides homemade meals to elders in the AAPI community free of charge. Fully volunteer-run, Meals for Unity has distributed thousands of meals since its inception. The M4U Classic Egg Hat is the first product in their merchandise line and helps the team pay for the ingredients and supplies needed for the meals.
